Thoughts on this speaker build? Chris Ferris TL build

Nice video with good tips.
People will have positive or negative opinions on the use of a pre-built crossover, but if the builder likes the sound that's all that matters.

Here's some builds with pre-made crossovers:

a minute and a half in and it seems he is still a rookie. All the way thru, it seems he knows about building with wood but notspeaker design. Do not pay any heed to anything he has to say.

The pre-built XO is unlikely to do a decent job.

Uses MDF. Yuk. Not at all decent for loudspeakers unless it all you can get.

Not a big fan of foam for damping. And why damping? He doesn’t seem to know the real reason.

How did he come up with the line? It is kinda small on first guess.

His construction detail seems mostly decent.

His roundovers are pretty much only cosmetic.

He did not relieve the inside of the driver cutouts.

What wire is he using?

Verdict: mostly a waste of time.

He goes to the effort of a TL and does not take advantage of the floor gain.
