I am getting a Proxima Ultralight LX1 given to me in a few days. I have been following the diy projector scene on and off for a while now. I know that retrofitting a commercial projector with a new lamp is no easy feat but I have read that it can be done.
Those of you who have done it... What am I getting myself into?

I'm interested in this as well.
I guess retrofitting is done on a case-by-case basis, since projectors can differ substantially in thier lighting setups.

hi
the big big big and potentially extremely dangerous* problem is finding the way to tie the lamp control circuit to fool the projector into thinking there is a standard lamp in place...see led yes you can ...you can also see some of my ideas there about how/where/what leds you'd perhaps use
if you know how to do the fooling circuit bit i'd be delighted to take that information from you ! 🙂

you can have any ideas you like of mine (but not for free if you're making money on them) - but in return please help me/us with the hard part !
