Lepai TA-2020A+ looks like a capacitor blew. Is this correct in your eyes? I am not very electronically educated. Should I pitch the 20 dollar amp or try and repair such a piece? It obviously won't power on.

Forgot to mention that it has a missing volume knob and LED light bezel from around the knob if that is still ok.

You must have reverse polarized the thing for that cap to look like that, since that cap is a 16V item, and your battery was 12V.

Most caps on the Lepais Need replacing regardless.
They really did fit lo grade bits. Not honestly surprising in a ~15$ amp.
