Check it out the 14" Proview flat panel for that price maybe a better choice than an OHP panel?

That's a very good price. But it says the dot pich is .297. That's the dot pitch of a 1024x768 15", so I'm thinking that it's native res is actually lower than that. It also doesn't say what the contrast ratio is (although I'm sure it's better than any projection panel). Someone will have to buy one to see how easily it comes apart.

Contrast Ratio: 200:1
I'd taek it apart myself if I had more cash. So is the "best LCD for your buck" still the NEC 1545V? What about the Benq FP557 that someone else mentioned?

Awesome, thanks a lot water1! This thread was pretty valuable:

Then I guess it's between the NEC 1545V and the I-O A15V.

I think the I-O data will be the one to get, here is some more info. and thread's.
In on thread goldmoth said this about taking the I-O apart
goldmoth....
"yeah all your really have to do is take the plastic outer case off, then pry the little tabs open to get the metal from around the screen. of course you have to be really careful. and pull off the sticky aluminized paper shielding off the back. But I wouldn't say any of it was hard to do.. all of the components on the board stay in the same place, this makes the whole setup more stable, just unplug the CCFLs. just be careful when pulling the panel up, " when you open the book". I really cant think of an easier way to describe it than to say it iis like a book. hope that helps..

Yeah, I secretly am biased to the the A15V (thanks, but I've already read those threads too). I think the many problem I had with the A15V was availability. Didn't someone say that you could order just the parts (no case etc) from I-O, but they would only ship in quantity? I haven't been able to locate anoter reseller. The ones I found through Google (IIRC French and German sites) all wanted 350+ Euros, which is too rich for my blood for a LCD as sensitive as this one. Naturally eBay has nothing on the A15V. [Correction] I just re-read the thread and found this supplier link for $230: http://www.sstcomputer.com/product.asp?pf_id=LCD-A15V
So what is the correct amount of colors for that display? The spec sheet reads: "Color # (MAX) 1,6190,000 Colors ". So is this 1.6 Million or 16 million?
I do like YMH's "sideways mounting" setup. I think this can solve a lot of heating issues and may extend the panel life (no need to fight Thermodnamics). I also thought about mounting some quiet fans (HDD or ones from QuietPC) along with a mobo temp monitor/fan speed adjuster with a new DC power supply like Lifter setup (was it Lifter...sorry I've read a lot of posts an my memory sucks).
I hope thisis an OK place to post this... I figured the other (Project II) thread was "results only". Thanks again water1... I assume you ordered yours?

OK good, someone I can compare notes with.
Have you given a thought to the OHP yet?
Everyone seems to be using a 3M 9000 (mostly 9850) series OHPs. There's also been a lot of talk about the Elmo SD 305 because of its 575W MH lamp and large fresnel. However, the posters that talk about this projector have only used it for parts, is there a reason for this?
Video / Graphics Cards?
I will be going the HTPC route so I still need to research the right card. I've heard good things about ATI Raedon 9700, 9800 and 9900s - although the 9900 pro is out of my price range now. People said to stay away from the ATI All IN Wonders, and get another TV tuner card instead (I forget now).
