What is it about the female voice that makes it so much more enjoyable to listen to than the males? Especially with emotional music.

Is it the same for women or is it a vice-versa thing?

Indeed does anyone else agree with me?

I heard a similar thing with regards female lecturers; they don't send you to sleep so much. (this has nothing to do with other female charms😀 )
The explanation (from another lecturer) was that, although the pitch of the female voice is higer, there are fewer harmonics. The sound is purer, and less fatiguing as a result. This result held for both male and female students.
I think it depends on the style of music though, male vocals usually sound better in heavy metal than female vocals. 🙂

Some Picks of Female voices

Hi,

Here are just a few picks of some female recording artists that I found particularly good to listen (Jazz style) to:-

1. Susan Wong - Albums on SACD: Close To You
I Wish You Love
hese Foolish Things

2. Janice - Album: Day & Night (Newly Released)

3. Jhenna Lodwick - All Albums

Regards,

Steve
