Hello everyone,
I've came across an headphone amplifier, apparently hand made in France, but that's all I know so far...
Does anyone recognise it, please?
There's absolutely no information on the internet, the only reference I could find so far is a post by Chris @AIM65, 'AmpCasq: an OPA 1622 integrated headamp projet' in this section of the forum, is there any connection between the two, please?
Bought it from someone in Paris, he doesn't know anything about it!
Thank you in advance for your time and amiability!
Kind regards, Alain

I don't think OPA1622 was available back in "12/99." It's probably a studio headphone amp like this, in a hand-poked plastic case:

Hi, I'm AIM65 and here's the thread regarding the Ampcasq project : https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/ampcasq-an-opa1622-integrated-headamp-project.304684/
But the pictures you show are not my project. It seems I name it the same way the product you bought. AmpCasq stand for 'Ampli Casque' !

Indeed, I've tried only with two at once, my HD650s and Focal Elear, it drives both the same time with ease! And the sound is not bad at all, compared with much more expensive amps. I guess it's a useful unit to easily A/B headphones, in this case A/B/C/D 🙂A real antique which can drive all your headphones at once!
Hi, I though so, it's just a very big coincidence: same name - the only reference I found is this thread; you are located in Paris and I bought it from someone in Paris, the amp being HANDMADE in France! What are the odds? In any case, it's strange that I can't find anything about this equipment, nor about the company, Protechnic. Thanks anyway for the clarification!Hi, I'm AIM65 and here's the thread regarding the Ampcasq project : https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/ampcasq-an-opa1622-integrated-headamp-project.304684/

And try four different types of DC blocking caps!
