I have an oldie but a goodie Integrated Power Amp Technics SU Z780. The power On/Off switch (ESB8249V) fails to remain making contact and of course the amp goes off. If I hold the power button in, the unit will stay on. I can't find this switch or any replacement on the market. I am hoping someone has an idea where I might get one.
you may have to clean it an use a 120v relay to turn on the amp. this allows the power switch to conduct a few ma at 120v.
su z780
Thanks for the reply. The switch in question seems to be sealed and inaccessible for cleaning. I could make modifications to the unit and put in a relay but as a last resort. I could also buy new stereo unit but I really like this one.

"Short" answer: short the switch terminals (carefully!!), plug the amp into a switched power switch. Not elegant, but you can have music while you hunt for a replacement.
Thanks for the reply. I am already doing that. That is how I know the rest of the circuits still work. I am looking for a switch that will fit with the proper ratings so it doesn't mess up the cabinet. I can handle it if it doesn't quite fit the pads on the circuit board.
Problem solved. I found a switch that fits perfectly. It is only rated for 5 amps but so is the power card. So there is no derating here but I never run at full power anyway. Thanks for all the suggestions.
