Hi,
I am trying to repair one older Technics cd player. The drive, or laser need some adjustment.
They are 6 small yellow potentiometers on the left side of the drive, when you are looking from the front.
I marked the position of each one, than tried to move one by one and moving the third one (counting from front) caused, that now the inserted cd is properly read and playing normal cds is no more problem , but it is not possible to play cdr copies of cds.
Does anybody knows how to adjust this player ?
Cheers, sinski

Problem Solved !!!
So, it seems that the first potentiometer regulate laser power. Setting it little higher solved the problem and now all kinds of cds (original and copies) are played.
Cdrs are reflecting less light than original cds.
This player is so old, but sound is really good, probably better than most new combined dvd/cd player.

I have a sl-ps50 but it doesn't seem to work. I don't know what the problem is but it seems to be the optical pickup. I hope it just needs some adjustment cause I can't get a new one since it's discontinued. Do you have some more info on adjusting those pots?
Thanks
