150" tv
Loved the segment wish you could have seen it Negative...they even had the infamous Will Weaton from Star Trek slamming on it. They used the fresnels from MyImax.com what a laugh. Sad though how much money those scam artists have taken from unsuspecting people. Check the website out you would think that they gave you the greatest gift next to a well built playboy bunny with money!! LOL

Have any of you guys looked at the results section at MaxTheater? Do you notice that all of the screen shots have VERY dark black surrounding the screen? Can you say over exposure? All they are doing is setting their cameras to leave the shutter open for a long time so that the image from the projector is very intense and the background disappears - what a crock. They should show some pictures like at http://www.mdc.nicsystems.com/ or on my site at www.diylabs.org/projector/ . Oh well - I hope nobody gets ripped off anymore by those guys ... you simply can't make a good projector from a crappy TV and a crappy lens. That's my 2 cents.
The best way to "make" projector screenshots is to pause a movie playing on your computer and take a screenshot of it. Add some black borders in photoshop, maybe a little motion blur, you've got a nice looking fake projected image.
Yup, that's why I really like the results photos that have a person standing in front of the image or have another object in the room so that you can see that it's actually a projected image. Sometimes those are obviously not DIY projectors though - those guys make a ton of money selling shoddy parts so that they can afford a good projector without ever doing any real work. Oh well - I hope the end is near for those types of sellers and that people are wising up about it.
