I have a TEAC V-900X cassette deck made in 1985. Everything is ok (well, I think so) except FL display which is too dim and unevenly lit as well. Is there a way to fix it? I.e. make it brighter.
The picture has been taken in a dark room so in reality the display is even dimmer.
SM is available at hifiengine TEAC V-900X Stereo Cassette Deck Manual | HiFi Engine for free.
Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Brightness is down to voltage difference unless there is a FL button on your TEAC which can vary the brightness.

In my case the VFD is driven directly by ICs. And there are no any trimpots to change voltage. Display brightness is not variable.
You are therefor left with changing the voltage applied to the VFD,s as advised in the link ,upping the voltage in the grid drivers supply but check out the voltage limit on them.
