I have a pair of TDL RTL-2 speakers with damaged rubber
surround of midwoofer in one speaker.
Midwoofer drivers are marked as "172-ns-05".
Anyone know the manufacturer/distributor of these drivers?
Maybe you have a used one?

Resurrect an old thread 🙂
Bought some TDL RTL2's many years ago and did a swap with my brother-in-law 10 years plus ago.
While he had them, one of the speakers stopped working so they went into the loft.
I now have them back, and was hoping it was the crossover that was damaged, but it looks to be the driver.
Any idea where I could get a replacement from??
On the unit it says "172NS05" and under that "4093"
Thanks

Thanks for the info.
Will give Falcon a ring and see what they can come up with (don't want to spend a fortune as the cabinets have been knocked around a bit...)

Falcon couldn't help🙁
Looks like ebay is calling then.
There's a German company on hebay that has some brand new (old stock) RTL drivers for sale ...they're 40 odd quids each though. Don't think posting ebay links works here, so here's the item number... 110993237876. The company's called Tecname.
Thanks for that 😉
Will see what else pops up in the mean time on ebay or gumtree but looks favourite😀

OK - bought a single RTL3 speaker with a very poorly cabinet for £40 and used the 2 drivers out of these in the RTL2's.
They work and sound pretty good.
Plan is, next year to create new cabinets as the RTL2 cabinets are very tatty.
Thanks all.

What is it? Some sort of plastic cone?
It's a VIfa D20-TD-05 - no longer in production I believe.
It is "19mm soft dome ferro-fluid cooled"
