Hi all
I recently bought a theorems td124 mk1 that was in pretty good condition. But...the previous owner had removed the clutch. I have tried finding NOS parts but it seems I am out of luck. I suspect my only solution is fabrication.
Could anyone out there suggest a place to buy this part or offer some insight not fabricating new parts? I certainly get the principals of operation but I am missing details...
What it it made of? Steel or aluminum? Is it coated with zinc or plain? How thick is it? Wha5 is the knob made of? Could you do some measurements for me?
Many thanks in advance...
Cheers
Deek

Can you be a bit more specific about which part are missing? I have a 124 in my shop and can measure for you.
Some information on this is available on vinyl engine ( if you sign in for diagrams ) .
The MK1 had a cast iron ( heavier ) turntable --MK11 was lighter as well as different colour/knobs.

I bought the aluminum platter shown here.
Retrotone Thorens Parts – Mockingbird Distribution LLC
I bought mine direct from Retrotone before they had a distributor in the US.

Thanks for all the info. The piece I am missing is the half round bit with the knob on it. The link above shows an excellent photo. I think it should be easy enough to build. Thanks for tip to contact schopper Swiss. Nothing is listed on their website but I sent them a quick email.
Hirscwi-thanks for the offer to do some measurements. I am curious how thick the clutch piece is and what material. If you could post a picture directly above it with a 12 inch rule I could maybe print it to scale. Also I need to know the size of the three holes that are drilled in it.
Cheers

OK, I'll try to do that today. The material is aluminum. I don't know the alloy but it is a soft version (6061?)
Sorry for the delay. I took some photos. But I also made a direct template so you won't have to try to guess locations. Just send me a PM with your mailing address and I'll drop the template into an envelope for you.

Wow! That is awesome! Thank you so much.
Over the week I reached out to all the regular sources and no one had the clutch parts.
I truly appreciate your help.
Cheers

Hello Deekcanoe! Apparently, if you make your own radial brake or ask someone else, you may also need brake pads for it. If you have any questions, please write I can help. Thank you, best regards!
How is progress on this project? I also have a missing clutch and was considering fabricating one myself.
If you end up making more than one, I'd be interested in purchasing!
