IC9 is a TPS7A6601
Is essentially a regulator that can be enabled and disabled by remote ignition.

It does the same thing as a normal 7805 regulator, with the only difference that its operation is controlled by the REMOTE of your head unit.

In some MD8000 and 12000 (but also in the new HD3000 V2 compact) I tried to replace IC9 with a normal LM7805, and with a pair of remote controlled NPN AND PNP transistors, I managed to get the "consensus" to start LM7805 which in turn it powers the microcontroller.

Everything worked flawlessly, because essentially it works exactly the same, but in one package.
Obviously, as soon as I received the original part, I replaced it, but the fact remains that it could have worked perfectly even with my modification.
