I am looking for a used pair of these full range drivers to pair with my eminence alpha 15a woofers in a PAP clone build. I know these are available for new but as I am going to build an open baffle and not sure how well I can execute and play with to my liking, hence lower prices option.
Please DM me with any offers from CONUS only
Thanks

I was sure you had found a pair on Monday when you posted that big smile.
Now I see you are still looking

I got an offer which I am discussing with the seller but looking for other offers too and the smile was to bump the thread.
I don’t know if you’ve heard the W1808 and really like it?
It seems to have gotten a following especially in the application you are interested in (PAP/open baffle). That is why I bought a pair.
After trying them in front horns and open baffle projects for several years I finally took them off the shelf and sold them last year.
I just never got the sound quality and resolution I wanted out of them.
I think there are other options out there that would be competitively priced new or used to the Tang Bands.
I personally preferred either Fostex or Lowther drivers more in my Oris front horns when I compared them to the W1808 with a variety of different amps…my favorite being my F2J clones.
I scored a pair of Lii Audio Crystal 10 drivers barely used for the same price you would pay for the W1808 new. They are a far more resolving and balanced driver on open baffle (in my opinion).
Just food for thought. Not trying to rain on anyone’s parade! 👍

Thanks @chromenuts for the feedback. I did follow your build with Lii 10 drivers and using minidsp but I would prefer a passive crossover. I understand your point of view and my limited speaker building knowledge want to go with the tried/tested combination of drivers of W1808 + Emnence Alpha 15A woofers (because I have them) for the PAP clone rather than risk of option for different drivers.
I also have the original Leonidas crossover boards.
I can build preamps, dacs and power amps but not speakers 🙂

I struggle with the speaker building end of things as well.
I’m always looking for well thought out and documented projects to mimic…but I do like to experiment!
I actually never liked the MiniDSP. I only had the original version to try (not HD) and the noise floor was unacceptable to me with these very sensitive drivers.
I was lucky enough to score one of NPs B5 open baffle crossovers a few years back. It makes things SO much easier and sounds fantastic. I’ll never let it go!
I’m currently trying to get a different hybrid front horn/slot loaded project to behave!
