Mark Audio A5.2/3, Fostex FF85wk, stock the Mark Audio have the edge. I have the 4" version of that TB, as with many of the TB i have heard, sort of a house colouration (thanks waxx). As well tjis particualr pair were not well matched as far as T/S. This along with other sample data suggests QC issues (i do not have enuff information to do more than suggest).
Personally i would even look at the CHN-50.
Mark Audio is in Hong Kong, should make it easy to buy.
Lots of well proven boxes for both the Fostex and the MA.

Did you have experience with Tang Band W3-1878 to compare with Markaudio Alpair 5.2/5.3?
I have a few questions... What are you expecting from it? Will you fit in a BR, TL, TABAQ, or other alignment?
Desktop speakers? Is size an issue?
Do better than this can be very subjective. 🙂
The 4” version is the only one i have heard. I found them quite coloured and i didn’t really like them. For sale cheap.
