I just saw these on sale for $25 ea. Does anyone have experience using them? The spec sheet response looks very nice and 88dB sensitivity is not bad either.

Tested here:
Timothy Feleppa's Pages: Speaker Measurements - Midrange/Fullrange Speakers 4" and smaller
This was countersunk into a 12mm thick baffle, with a 45deg chamfer to a knife edge on the rear. The resonance at 2kHz is a problem. Distortion on the low end is about what I expect for 2" and 0.75mm xmax - kind of like many dome midranges.

Thanks for the link TMM. The HD plot looks very clean above 300Hz, which is where I would be using it. -50dB is quite good (to produce 86dB at 1m).
If we compare to the TG9FD-10-8, one of my favorite drivers, it is actually lower HD:
I might have to build a FAST out of this one...
And to compare with an aluminum cone 2in driver that I do have, the SB65WBAC25-4 (4ohm and 84dB) - sensitivity lacking a bit, but measures well and sounds great:

No surprise here
Despite the naysayers here who don't seem to like tangband products, I have had great experiences with them.
Another good 2" is W2-800SL. Tested in a front loaded horn, can't recall the thread title but a search may liberate it.
In a WAW application they are good from about 1k up. Below that THD xmax limitations and the very low Q make a sub 1k crossover point impractical. when used singly
Maybe a good candidate for a matrix array (seeing as they also seem to be tours de rigeur lately, amongst other things like head amps 😛)
Not that cheap though
Looking again at the TS parameters, they are near identical to W2_800SL. My initial calcs 5 years ago gave something like 50cc (yes cc) closed box volume. Cone is painted black as opposed to natural Al Mg colour, and round faceplate for rear mount rather than square recess front mount. Same neo magnet.

Another good one from that sale is this:
Tang Band W3-881SJF 3" Full Range Speaker
Slightly better sensitivity, and it looks like better low-end reach. Also, based on the IB plot on the product spec sheet, looks dead flat above resonance. No THD plots available on the product page, but maybe someone else has seen one somewhere...
PE is getting very dangerous to my wallet with all these sales!

Tangband recently replaced the W2-800SL with the W2-2243S, available at Parts Express for $28. Looks nice, would like to see that tested.
