dear all
here is my new dac, dir1703 + pcm1738
sound is very very wide and details, good in clarity
and now i am plainning to do a final DAC project(this year~)
using dir1703, df1706 and ad1955 in mono mode...
is it ok? seems ad1955 have 5v Vdd, but df1706 can output 3.3v data only...
but for ad1955, it will treat the data as "high" whan the voltage higher than 2.2V, so they i can use them together... am i right?
please correct me if i am wrong

Hi
But instead of DF1706 it is better to use NPC SM5847.
Subjectively, DF1706 sounds worse, than built-in DF îf AD1955.
Regards.
Yes, you right.so they i can use them together... am i right?

Hi
I still have some 5847 around, they go for 35 euro each
I once bought 50 pieces
all the best
Hi
I have built a very similar DAC with PCM1730 and DIR1701.
I believe PCM1738 is the same chip as the PCM1730 but with cpu control options.
It really has lot's of detail, and sounds very good.
What opamp's did you use?
I used 4x opa627 + 2x ad797.
You can see my DAC if you visit my site (leonaudio.snn.gr).
And if I can see well you used resistors in series with the signals from dir1701 to pcm1738. Are they 100Ohm as i think TI suggests ?

no, i am using 47 ohm, it can to prevent overshoot and damping.
but i have checked it with CRO, 100 or 47 is not a problem, no different in waveform.

I saw them in the photo but wasn't sure.
Nice to find someone that made the same choice.
I agree with you 🙂

PCB Purchase
Hello Takashi,
My wife will be going to HK next month, can you possibly tell me where can I get the PCB in HK? An adress will be fine. Thanks.

this pcb is my self project~
so no where can buy it!
the pads for resistor are too small, so i need to drill it, and sloder both side.
but if you still want it, i can give you one piece for free, i have 4 spare on hand.
of course you need to pay the cost of postage.
if your are interesting, you can give me a email to discuss.
but i just think how can you give me money...haha~
