tactix ps1 5" build
Right i think ive realy had enough of drooling "wipes mouth" over every projector post on here so i think its time for me to finaly get my feet wet.
The other day i came across a 5" ps1 lcd at the right price £20 its not the official sony one though so i hope the resolution is gonna be good enough for the job in hand.
But on a good note it already has composite and audio rca in so thats one less job to do. not that im gonna use the audio in as it will be hooked up to my 5.1 .
I was originaly going to do a 15" setup but i dont want to get in over my head to start with.
I had thoughts of a ohp and panel enter my mind a few times but due to size bulb life and the sheer fact it looks ugly as hell put me off also wheres the challenge in that.
Not to impune any ones work who has gone that way but its just not for me.
So this is gonna be my testbed more to prove to myself that i have the skills to do it before i butcher a 15" and hell if i get a good enough result my kids can have it in there room.
Ive stripped the lcd and fixed a loose connection on the power connector and wrapped and boxed it up till i get the rest of the parts needed.
Im planing on doing this as cheap as i can.
I already have my lighting on order 150w mh setup.
Just looking for my optics now.
Will start the enclosure build soon.
If any of the uk users have got a triplet and fresnel that want to sell plz let me know.
Will post pics of lcd if any one wants.
