Hi,
I have a Systemdek 11X 900 with a standard mains power supply to the motor. I'd like to fit an external electronic power supply that maybe filters or stabilizes the mains supply voltage and maybe allows speed switching. What are my DIY options? Thanks.
PS Maybe I could upgrade the motor as well as it uses a standard 110v AC one. Could I fit a DC motor instead? Maybe a Linn Valhalla board? Or a Project Speedbox?

The early Systemdeks used a Philips motor with the necessary resistors and phasing capacitor mounted inside the turntable chassis.
I am not sure how yours would be built, have you had an exploratory look inside.
The motor pulley may be a friction fit, or there may be a small grub screw retaining it. It would be useful to understand the motor shaft diameter if you end up fitting a different motor to make sure the pulley will fit.
As you suggest your motor will probably be a philips/airpac/allied motion motor 250/120V 50 Hz mains 250 rpm synchronous motor which with a bit of research may mean you can use Linn type power supplies such as Valhalla and the hercules ones.
Have a look at Mclennan.co.uk which details many different motors.
If you can find one of the early project speedboxes they may support your motor, but the newer ones seem to be purely configured to the latest project turntables.
Maybe try a google search to see if anyone has done this before. you could try contacting Audionote UK and ask about their PSU.
Going to a dc motor would suggest getting in touch with origin live.
It is a very good turntable as it is, so a better PSU will be a subtle improvement.
