Hello, I have a pioneer sx 650 with volume at 0 I can still hear music from the left speaker. I have just cleaned all controls with deoxit. The right speaker does catch up to the left soon after turning volume up. It seems to stay but am using crap speakers to test. DC volts measured. 023 both sides, then tried speakers. Thanks for any ideas or leads. Have downloaded schematic.
In many cases like this in radio receivers it turned out to be the slider in the volume control was not returning to exactly zero due to slackness/dirt on the zero contact ( high resistance ) .
Only one I came across had a high resistance soldered connection to earth , on checking on the web most of the faults in them are due to dirt as they are at least 45 years old .
Volume controls in those days weren't up to modern standards ,pretty basic .

Then you will have to measure with your digital multi-meter on low ohms if it is not auto-ranging the resistance between the slider ( center tag on the volume control and the zero earthed tag --it should be zero but that depends on how good your meter is .
Short leads together --they should register zero but probably wont and will add in the actual meter leads resistance so deduct it from the reading .
As a check using a small metal screwdriver --short out the same two tags --make sure you are shorting out or checking the actual earthed tag and not the input one and see if the music or a audio generator sound is removed.

does the loudnees affect the sound level? it comes from a 40% tap on the pot if the wiper is bad the volume level will increase (not just the bass + treble).
I have a sx-650, sx-780 and sx-3700. rebuilt the 780 and 3700

This isn't necessarily a big problem if it still tracks ok at normal listening volumes. If cleaning doesn't work,
then replacement would be the alternative, if you have localized the problem to the control.
Finding a replacement control that would fit properly could be difficult.

Freshen up the solder on the pot connections.
