Switching power supply & filament

Did anybody try to use a switcuing power supply to heat the tube filament?

i have never done it, but i take it you're asking because you want to know if it works right??? well i don't see anything wrong with using one... it's probably a bit more expensive than necesary, a little bit overkill, but apart from that it should be fine.

Yes, I applied a switching regulator for my VT62/801 parallel single amplifier to get 7.5V filament supply. It worked perfect!
