I am using a VPI HW-19 MKIV TT, everytime when I switch on/off the TT, a loud "Click" sound come out from the speaker. I checked the wiring and there already has a very small 0.001K 630V capacitor in parallel with the on/off switch. I tried to increase it to 0.22u but the motor started running even with the switch off. Can anyone suggest a solution for this? Thanks
Try with a "snubber", a resistor about 100 / 1000ohms in series with a poliester cap about .047 /.22 in parallel with the motor winding, and test the audio cable shield, perhaps it is broken and doesn´t do its job.
Good Luck !!!
Good Luck !!!
Also, you can try a MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor) in parallel whit motor winding, of a voltage slightly more than the line voltage, b/e, a MOV of 240V for a motor of 220V. But take in mind, that the MOV some time fails short circuit without reason, then put a fuse between line and MOV/motor. Look at a datasheet for your best choice accordingly supply/motor voltage.
