switchable IV stages - IVYIII and Legato3

Hi

I don't want to start another thread on IVY vs Legato, I understand this is very much personal preference and I intend to buy both when they are available.

What I want to know is can I build a system that switches between them without having to pull everything apart each time. My problem is that any signal switching system would hugely increase the signal path length.

What I would like to know from someone who understands the curcuits better than I do; if I connected both the IVYIII and the Legato3 to a BuffaloII in parallel, but only powered one at a time, would the other (not powered) IV stage have a negative affect on the one I am using?

Thanks

Dan

Ok, how's this for an idea for a new board once all your current revisions are shipping;

How about a half-half IVY / Legato I->V stage for (dual) mono buffalos? One side has one channel of an IVY, the other side has one channel of a Legato, with some switching in the middle for the input from all 8 channels of the Buffalo.

This would allow us to swap between the two linestages based on mood or the type of music we are playing without having the expense of two DACs.
