surround unit for projector?

I'm just wondering if it is a wise use of my time to build a wooden enclosure around my OHP & lcd projection panel, like you did when you first try and build a tv projector with the fresnel lens. I mean, will it be worth the bother for that extra light output, and I take it, it will, again, have to be painted black on the inside.

I can't see why reducing the ambient light in the room from the light leaks from the OHP would be a bad thing, and painting the inside flat black would help eliminate light reflections inside of the enclosure. I've seen pics of other menber's setups on this board where they've done this, and it cleans up the picture somewhat.

I thought that as well, it would probably clear up the picture, but I just needed reassurance really that it is a good idea, as I'll make the surround out of wood, and I don't want to waste it.

So am I looking at building a sloping frame around the LCD & OHP, which will start from the lcd screen and stay at a specific gradient so that it will meet the high mirror reflection thing right at the border. Is that right, yeah?

What does everyone else think? Posting links or pictures of other peoples set-ups with the diy enclosure would be a great help so I can get some ideas on how to construct it.

Thanks

Here is a pic of Zardoz's projector with an enclosure made from cardboard. I am planning to do something similar, but using Fiberglass.
