Hi,
I bought a sure amp board (the one channel TAS5630).
And got one of these power supplies:
Aluminum High Quality AC100V 240V Switching Power Supply 36V 11A | eBay
I was planning on using it to run my Klipsch Sub-10 home subwoofer as the plate amp on it died. I bought an inline RCA crossover (F-Mod) to use but it sounded rubbish. I unplugged the sub/amp and havent run it since but am now wondering why it sounds bad.
Is there something i have not done correctly to run this setup or are these amps just not very good?

70Hz as a Crossover point is a little low, IMO. I like to be able to dial in my crossover frequency, somewhere around 150-200Hz. I would have a look at some active crossovers, like this.
Also, How are you/What are you feeding the input of the SURE amp?
I'll have a look into the crossovers. It was fed from the LFE (Sub) output of my Yamaha RX-V461 receiver. I now have an Adcom GTP-600 pre amp that i think also has a sub out so it will be fed from that.
I suppose my big question is, can these amps sound good? as good as the original Klipsch plate amp which i think is made by Bash?
If it can, i will pursue this. Otherwise i will wait till i have my new subs and amp later this year.
Thanks
I dont know much about the Yamaha and its LFE (Sub out), but I would think that you would not need another crossover in the line. Different story if you thought the low-pass was coming out too high. I cant tell you if they sound good or not. I dont have one, nor have i listened to one. I dont see why they would not sound good paired with the right drivers.
Just limit the frequency, supply the Board with enough clean power, use the proper output from your source, and use the proper input on your SURE amp, based on what your source is, (ie, HIGH or LOW) I recommend that active crossover and volume control, and im sure you will be happy.
