Hi

i was looking for a kit building a Supro model 24 i found one at the turretboards , when i searched for the specification of the Heyboer transformers used of 18watt power and output transformer i found there is other transformers way different from each other , the heyboer has 8k primary output transformer but at mojo they have it 4k , and the power transformer the heyboer 290v 120ma , and at mojo 310v 150ma , the links bellow , how that will effect on the operation of the amp and sound if i replace the heyboer with the mojo? or do i have to bias the amp specifically for these transformers?

The specifications on the Mojo primary are 4K for each half of the primary winding for a total of 8K, so the only difference between the two will be the quality of construction of each (core material, gauge of windings, etc). The higher voltage and current rating of the Mojo PT will give you more headroom (albeit, marginally more) and a slightly tighter sound since you will have a little less sag with the higher current rating. Watts Audio (turretboards.com) is now offering "Classic Tone" branded transformers. Their Supro OT has a 7.5K primary and the Supro PT has 305 (610 CT) but doesn't state the current on the HV secondary. I'm very interested in building a model 24 myself. BTW- I've done quite a bit of business with Mojo and have been very happy with them- no experience with the others.
