Sumo Polaris Mod. 310 W/ Ch. failure.

In searching the Internet for info I happened on this forum. jackinnj also had a failure 2005 (Archived) and my attempt to contact him was denied due to my newness here.
I have four of these puppies in my AV sound system. Some time after my purchase, one of the amps failed and I drove to Chatsworth seeking repairs. As the facility was closing, I was given the amp's schematics. I was able to repair the amp and did not really use the schematics (I was given two, the original and one with the latest ECN - 5/17/89) because the problem was traced to a cold solder joint.
Currently, I have taken the amp out of the rack and opened it up finding a blown fuse. (F1) The replacement also blew. I suspect one (Or both output transistors are shorted) I do not at this time know what has failed. (Or which transistor my amp has) Your 2005 posting spoke of 2SK405Y (And the updated print showed IRFP243) NEITHER of which I could get info on.
My intent had been to contact jackinnj to ask him of the final outcome. (There was talk of using IRFP240 / 9240 transistors)

I am not into design; I only wish to get my amp working again. jackinnj's latest schematic with the corrections of post #26 match those of the ECN 89053 schematic that Sumo sent to me. (Excepting the power transistor type)
The only pertinent piece of test gear I have is a DMM & I have yet to use it for T/S here. (Nor have I removed the heat sink to be able to see what transistors were actually used)

I am still stuck and needing to talk to jackinnj (Still denied) about the diffs between his schematic and that provided by Sumo. Are the values he had listed those used "as built" or were they changed to support the mods he had made. The older schematic that I had received from Sumo had two ECNs listed, but not what had been changed. (Heatsink removed revealed that I have the older transistors)

Thank you for your help. I would post the most appropriate schematic, but it is full size & I do not have a scanner that will take that size. Maybe I can photograph it?

Many Thanks to the One person that responded!

Problem solved without a change of design. I don't know if the archived thread's schematic was created from a CKT Bd earlier than mine, but there were differences. Anyway the problem was solved by correcting cold solder / assembly issues.

Hi,
Power transistors for Polaris are 2SK405_Y(black)/2SJ115_Y(green) Toshiba, very sensibles, take care with yours connections, and use fast F1 fuse (no more 3A). The last output transistors are shorted very easely and also the 10uF/63Vdc decoupling cap can be damaged, you must also changed it by another (47uF/63Vdc is a best thing).
I am interested for your Sumo Polaris ECN 5/17/89 schematics, can you forward me, or post it.

As mentioned above, I joined this forum in an attempt to contact the original poster (jackinnj) of the now archived Sumo thread. It became a moot point after I fixed my amp without needing any new parts. It had been some time since I have had to work at component level, so the first thing I had to do was repair my solder station.
I don’t know if I can legally publicly post the schematic that had been given to me as a repair aide. I will PM it to you, however.

Hi my Sumo lost one channel yesterday. the first red LED was not glowing so I replaced the fuse that had blown. When I turned it on it made a pop sound and smoke came out the top. I took it appart again to find the blue capasitor had blown. It is the one in between the two fuses. a friend said he could look at it for me but needs the schematcs.
