I have a number or sources with I2S out. I would like to use a DAC with balanced line out or easily modded to add rather than a seperate add on board.
Ideally a budget solution (<$50) there use to be a bunch of offerings on AE.
Suggestions?

Member Chiurtu makes a discrete logic balanced ladder dac. I have one but not had time to wire it up yet.

I originally bought his unbalanced version and used a SPDIF to I2S interface. It sounded great - I was amazed just how well with minimal filtering so i bought the balanced version when it became available.
I will be using a pair of MF X10 clone tube buffers driving Sowter transformers.
I don't think there are any commecrially made dacs with I2S input in your price range,
