Hi guys! I just moved to London from Italy with my friend and we are thinking of building our own speakers. I brought with me my 1970s Marantz 1060, which I love. The idea is to build a couple a bookshelf (or floorstanding, even better) speakers for our living room, which is roughly 5x5 meters. I have a lot of experience with tube amplifiers for guitars (I have small company that makes boutique Marshall style 50 watters back in Venice), hence electronics and woodworking is not a problem, however this is my first experience in speaker construction.
What's in your opinion a good place where to start? Any speaker design you would suggest? Our budget is around 400 Euros...
