I've been trying to find stuff lately that really needs the ability to search three character terms. Could we maybe ask for a list of terms to be entered in for searchability?
Virtually all the element voltage, capacitance and resistance terms for active devices such as Ip Vp Iss Vds etc. . . . .
Also very common things like arc, BJT, FET, pot, . . . .
There must be tons . . . .
Is this doable?

I agree. I have not quite figured out how to narrow things down enough. How about a search sticky? Other than that, I like this place and adsorb a lot through osmosis.
It drives me nuts too. Having to use google to search the diyaudio archive kinda defeats the whole purpose of idea of having a forum search facility.
We'll be upgrading our server within the month and investigating other search options which will handle 2 character searches (eg: Sphinx, either the free or the $2000 option from yqed). Many thanks to everyone who has donated recently and has made this a possibility.
