Does anyone out there know the quiescent current and bias (dc offset) settings for my Sugden P128's, I am doing a full re-cap on them due to age and would like to set them up just right 🙂

Sound is produced by loudspeakers. The amplifier increases the power of the electrical signal.
Here the amplifiers break first 🙁
Then they repair 🙂

The amplifier amplifies and introduces distortion. The speaker reproduces sound and adds its own distortion.
This is a rare, undistinguished and kinda ugly model, though it appears to have been produced in at least two different formats over some years.........Anyone who knows its sound and can comment if it’s worth to buying it?
Each mono amplifier is quoted as producing 170W/ channel of pure class A to 4R loads which, given the heatsink sizes and number of output mosfets, just isn't possible. It has to be class AB with a high bias level that enables class A operation up to about 10W or so, which was how other Sugden models over about 20W/channel were designed too. That's not a bad choice really, because few people will ever use a domestic amplifier at more than 5W anyway.
I think you may have better luck finding information or at least a personal opinion or two, among the more focused, commercial product chats at UK forums like "The art of sound". However, this review seems to nail it: High-End Amps Page 2 | Hi-Fi News
