This is a rare, undistinguished and kinda ugly model, though it appears to have been produced in at least two different formats over some years..

Each mono amplifier is quoted as producing 170W/ channel of pure class A to 4R loads which, given the heatsink sizes and number of output mosfets, just isn't possible. It has to be class AB with a high bias level that enables class A operation up to about 10W or so, which was how other Sugden models over about 20W/channel were designed too. That's not a bad choice really, because few people will ever use a domestic amplifier at more than 5W anyway.

I think you may have better luck finding information or at least a personal opinion or two, among the more focused, commercial product chats at UK forums like "The art of sound". However, this review seems to nail it: High-End Amps Page 2 | Hi-Fi News
