subwoofer as furniture

I saw the oak version in a store the other day. It didn't look very good to me. Too Roy and Dale. The salesman said he expected it to have a high wife acceptance factor, but it had been there a real long time.

I like the idea, but not the execution.
 
I would have to agree with Dave, I don't like the looks of the stuff. Not even going into the cost. (But then again, I don't like formal stuff, I prefer more modern looks)

The idea is one that I keep trying to work on for my subwoofer rebuild. It will be used as an endtable simply due to space considerations. I also strive to make furniture that looks nice and has function beyond their look. It just takes some extra effort, that's all.
