subwoofer amplifier

hi guys,
i have a problem - i would like to build a normal 50W amplifier...

i have normal "small" bookshelf speakers and an amplifier for them.... i would like to drive this subwoofer amplifier from the output of my main amplifier and not from the input of my main amplifier - so the question is - how you can make a normal amplifier tht can deal with the input signal level of the normal main amplifier .... if you know what i mean.......????

i do not know how o they do it usually.....

They do it on plate amps all the time , just a resistor network
to divide the first amps output down to input level for
the second amp..

Search for a generic plate amp schematic , look at input
section.

ohhh - i thought that they use something more clever than this.... if it is a resistor network only that it is o.k. - no problem - that is easy to do.... 😀

Also make values low enough to at least present a small load to
the first amp.

that one is for a 50w amp, I would add a higher wattage
50ohm resistor at the input.

i saw in one jbl amplifier few minutes ago values like 240k and 4k7......
anyway - your idea is sounding better to me .... bu i would like to go with higher values - at least to have 25kohm if possible.... not just 11kohm in total..... just a bit higher 😀
what do you think - would that be still o.k.????? for example 22k and 2k2......

Some amps get a little "squirrely" when they see no load at
all ,look at many designs before you make a determination.
