All right, I'm wiring up my power switch and I need to know which of the tabs on my DPST switch "go together"? Is the juice coming "in" the top and out the bottom or is it coming "in" one side and out the other?
I know, I know, stupid question!

...drink two more beers and then just wing it...
Oh if life were only that simple!
it can be... of course, it could also be short.
I'd prefer it to be a little longer. Can you shed any light on my question?
post a schematic of the switch.
Otherwise, use an ohmmeter and check which contacts are connecting in each position. Ideally, the "live" side is the fixed contact and the "switched" side is the moving contact, but in reality it doesn't matter.

Alright, with the help of my brand new multi-meter it appears that when the switch is off nothing happens regardless of what two tabs I'm touching. When the switch is on, I get a reading when I touch two of the side tabs. I'm assuming that means that these two "go together" and that the juice is going "in" one and "out" the other; correct?
I couldn't find the exact switch I purchased (forgot the model number) but I think I'm tracking now.

Just kidding, found the part bag and looked it up at Mouser

Looks like 1 and 2 go together and 4 and 5 go together (those just happen to be the side tabs).
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
