I've always preferred the original vinyl on this, or at least 24bit flacs of the original. But WOW, Wilson has done an amazing, unbelievable job on the digital 2.0 remix of this album. I'm blown away. The detail, imaging and especially the punch on bass is so beautifully woven into the original. This is true art.
Hi There;
Where'd you get it and in what format? i have an SACD from a few years ago that is forgettable. CTTE is one of my desert island albums and Mr. Wilson has great ears. Grace for Drowning and The Raven That Refused to Sing have excellent sound.
Thanks
Matt

You can get it here: Amazon.com: Close to the Edge [Blu-ray]: Yes: Movies & TV
Let's just say I obtained a pre-release of it. I've only heard the stereo remix.

Thanks; that was the one I just found. The stereo mix is all I'd be intersted in as well but would be willing to experiment with the 5.1.

Oh sweet god. I just found out he's redone a whole bunch of King Crimson albums too. And he's remixing a ton of stuff for other artists.

I knew about the Crimson but thought he only remixed the extra (bonus) tracks; not the already known available tracks.
I would have liked to have heard his take on Starless or The Talking Drum or even Fracture.
...perhaps I'll have a closer look...🙂
