Stetsom amp 2k5 :

I've notice to this amp that if you discharge the +rail voltage before power-up the amp turns-on and rail voltage climb up to 110Volts but after a while the other side of the 4 pcs of IRF1404 of PS, starting to heat-up.

But if you didn't discharge the +rail voltage before powering the amp it goes to protect mode forever.

any idea what is the problem on this? I've changed the other side of power supply FETS(IRF1404) and the driver IC.

gate voltages looks good almost in perfect shape.

Thank you! and more power!

How big is your bench power supply? I've seen random low volt trouble codes when the power supply isn't strong enough for the initial cap charge when powered up.

Anywho, if you have some of the ps fets heating up, check the gate resistors and make sure they aren't shorted. If you are making rail voltage the gate signal coming from the IR4427 is probably okay, but still worth a check.

My gut tells me to check for DC on the outputs. I am wondering if what you really have is a couple of shorted outputs that are just drawing like crazy? What happens when you power up the amp with the two IR2010's pulled?

bench supply is just 10Amps.
Ive check the gate res is around 3.9 to 4.1ohms
ill try to pullup IR2010 but i was afraid to do so.

discharging the + rail makes the amp works but after a while the other side of PS fets, heats up.

I've notice that a 12V supply is supplying the + rail through a dual diode, when the remote supply is turned off, or in protect mode. This is new to me...is this normal to this amp?
