I am trying to find a good quality connector to use with my RIAA preamp.
It has to be a side-by-side design and preferably can be panel secured.
A UK/EU supplier would be best for me.
I bought one through ebay but it turned out to be a bit cheap and nasty!
Thanks
Peter

I had checked out RS but I couldn't find any stereo pairs that had a panel fix!
Same for Farnell and Mouser

Pcb mounting and panel fixing? some have a small self tapping screw hole in the middle to secure to panel
Yes that is the type. In the past I have tapped the hole, usually plastic, and use a machine screw for a positive fix.
The problem I haven't found a stereo pair of quality.

I have checked Ebay but after my last purchase I am now wary.
It is for a kit home build, a Muffsy phono preamp. I have integrated it into my PreAmp box and because of available space and its screening box I needed a more compact solution than the standard.

To be honest I've yet to come across a quality, robust pcb mounting rca socket, I use proper panel mounting ones, I don't know what to suggest other than try and find space, or maybe use a different kind of connector...think outside the box as it were
Thanks....... I think!
I am beginning to think I will have to compromise, change to two singles, try a different connector design, or something. I just don't like the idea of very low level signals entering a box and then running through cables between two different connectors.
Just my hang up I guess.

If the case is screened and you use screen cable inside that's not a problem. If they are short runs of wire, tightly twisting them might be simpler
Maybe not what you're looking for, but have you seen these on eBay?
1pair Gold RCA Female Jack Pin PCB Socket Audio Video A/V Socket Connector | eBay
I bought a pair to check them out and the seem to be well built. You would have to design them into you're pcb.

Thanks everyone.
I like those Ebay items George, not made as a pair but they do have a mechanical panel fix.
Worth a punt, as we say here!

Yes, those look pretty decent, let us know what they're like if you go for them. It looks like they are insulated from the chassis in a neat way due to their construction
