stacking focusrite saphire?

not sure if i'm in the right section here!?!?

i have 1 focusrite saphire 40... i would like to stack another can i link upthrough firewire? going from one into the other and into the computer
or do i have to use adat? will the daw recignize 2 saphire's?

I don't know what a saffire is, but firewire devices are designed to be dasiy chained as you propose,

From memory (I have a Saffire pro 26 io but haven't used it in a long time) the interface actually has a spot on it to select the saffire device you want to configure, so I would imagine they would handle daisy chaining fine. One good thing is that the firewire bus should provide clock sync so you shouldn't need to use external word clocks etc.
