Does anybody have opinions on stacked( ala acoustat 1+1) for the MMGW? I do not want them mounted on wall. Would try to use them well away from room boundries with homebuilt sub. Like to hear opinions on this.
Not a Siningle Opinion??? Has anyone tried this before?
No, but on paper I worry about integration between all of that especially the panel to cone transition

Not the configuration you are considering, but I tried pairs on either side of a DIY 1/2" ribbon. The MMGWs had a very pronounced "drumhead sounding" resonance around 400Hz.

Interesting configuration you have there. Did you abandon that setup because of the resonance? Is the resonance there with just a single pair or was it just due to the side by side config. i have to say I kind of like that setup.

The resonance was in the panels, not configuration. One of those "once heard, cannot unhear" things...just an experiment that didn't last long.
As I remember, lower xo was around 200.

Done it with MMG's
Works great....And possibly the best bang for the buck in Maggie Land. I think it depends on your room whether or not you want the taller "line source." I tend to like the effect more in larger rooms. In any case, it reduces distortion in the mid bass at all but very low listening levels. I run mine with the Bag End ELF and 2 double 12" Bag End subs.
FWIW,
Brett
