split usb cable

I bought one of these SMSL M300 dacs, and it came with a split dac cable
(one side for power and the other for data).

Now, what's the point of that if you're going to plug both ends in a PC? lol.

Twice the power one USB port can deliver. One side is power only, the other power and data.

Possibility of using a clean external power perhaps?

I was thinking of using a usb power bank with 10,000 mha.

I think that would give me several hours easily.
