THE PROPOSAL
I am a newbie and would like to do a collaborative design on a 3-way x 2 system. I would like to invite you to help me design a cabinet that integrates with a sitting stool. My wife doesn't like speakers out in the open, so I am trying to hid them. 😀I have uploaded some pictures of the design (yes, I know it is floating in the air, but these are quick and dirty renders). I understand that the design of the cabinet is important and am wondering if there are those out there that would like to make a Google sketch up of the interior of the box. I have selected 3 speakers picked out, but not purchased, and they are...

I am open to suggestions if you know of better drivers for around the same price. I am learning the technical aspects of speaker building and think that I want to do six drivers on two 3-way passive crossovers. This is mainly because I don't know how to mix two driver on two 2-way passive xovers and one 8 inch sub. I know I will need to attune the drivers to match via an L-Pad on the woofer and the tweeter to match the midrange.

There are not any dimensions on here, only the concept of what I think it could look like. The amplifier is not shown, but would be placed above the two woofer.

I am so grateful my wife accepts my audio addiction and all my toys.
Thats pretty creative. Are the HF fold away? I think with that approach it would be hard to control unwanted vibration, but I could be wrong. Also think about diffraction, it could do crazy things around all those edges and flat hard surfaces, especially inside the cubby. I would think about lining the inside with some type of sound absorbant.

I'd just build the speakers and put them in the living room. To hell with it. If she loves you, she'll understand if not at least you'll know it for sure.

Now now... She does love me, =) but it's a two-way street. I love her too! Also, I like a good challenge. So really she gave me a good opportunity to build something cool.
I appreciate the input and have taken into consideration what you said and am modifying my design so that the Mids and Tweeters are not going to have to wrap sound around so many corners. I'll have some Sketch up picks up here soon.
Any ideas on how to build the woofer enclosure? Dimensions? Can it be calculated done before I actually order the woofers?
Also, I'd be open to having just one 8inch woofer, but don't know how to wire the 5 drivers together? Any good articles?
