I'll apologize right now if this is in the wrong section.
I'm converting a 15watt Samick practice guitar amp into a mini-half stack. My question lies with the speaker cab. I'm using 2X10" 8ohm 50watt speakers that I salvaged out of some old stereo speaker cabs. They were from Sears! lol! They sound amazing & replacing the original 8" 4ohm speaker seemed like a good idea.
Anyway, there is a small transformer, a power resistor, and a capacitor in each of the original cabs. Should I be using these with the speakers in the new 2x10 cab I'll be building?? Or can I just wire the speakers directly to the 1/4" jack in the back of the cab??
Will leaving them out/putting them in, have any real significant affect on the output?
The transformers have CH-15 0, K 893-TK on them. The Power resistors are 5w 12ohms, and the caps are 50v 1.5MFD Bi-polar.
someone wanna school me on this? please?
Thanks! 🙂
