This seems like a stupid question since it should be straight forward, but i'm prepping for a small amp build and was just configuring the rear plate of the chassis.
I was going to install the speaker binding posts but was confused, maybe I bought the wrong ones? This is what I bought..

My question is, how the heck do you isolate the posts where they go through the back plate and into the chassis so as to not touch the aluminum?
The black pieces that come with it are completely flat on the back, no nipple to insulate against shorting the aluminum to the through hole.
I can always drill the hole substantially larger then the actual diameter of threaded portion of the post but unless it is loctited/epoxied/etc, there is always a chance it could possibly slide/move when at attaching speaker cables and short.

Maybe ...wrong mounting by the operator ? The isolators must allow to ...isolate ! No risk must be allowed , so it must be an error in the packaging chain , as I don't think ,like you , that the couple must be flat .

You could use a short piece of heatshrink tubing or you could PM me your mailing address and I sendl you a couple of shoulder washers (inside 1/4", drill hole 3/8"). E

Another cheap, possible solution could be to insulate the metallic portion passing through with Teflon plumbers tape. Available at any decent hardware store for less than a buck. The stuff is useful for doing many things (especially making cables).
