Ardbeg reveals results of 'space whisky' experiment - BBC News
Whisky matured in space tastes different. Hublot sell a watch with grains of moon dust in. Hi-end hifi lunacy really needs to catch up! I want my cables to be conditioned in orbit damnit.😀

Even better, Canadian audiophiles with a poetic twist could be shipped out 6 months a year for crystal growth QC/QA.
A NASA report showed that the above-mentioned can spend extended periods in outer space without any measurable deterioration effects, as they experience life in orbit as a natural habitat.
Win Win !
(an internal memo advised against the employment of Australian tweakers, intensive double blind testing resulted in a 100% chance of them ripping out everything in the space station which they regard as redundant and damaging to the palpability of the auricular image)

Ardbeg is good stuff but this experiment makes no sense to me at all. Here it's aged in large casks for a long time not in vials. Raw distillate aged three years in a vial is not whiskey.
There must be more to this story.
Pffffft....you can alter whiskey, cognac and wines for the better at ground level in 30 minutes....no need for billion dollar space missions.
JC knows what I'm talkin' 'bout.

Next: pyramid whisky!
Been "tried" in the 80's.
Dan, you could also leave them out in the sun for an hour and yes they will taste different. Tried the devices did nothing for me. Remember audio is not food/wine taste there is completely subjective, folks put ice in fine wine or someone might like to boil off a few degrees of alcohol from their whiskey so it tastes better to THEM. I like stinky cheese and HIGH game.

To bad they couldn't build us some triodes out in space so they would have real vacuum not the factory made kind !
Yeah, hung over, and hot left over beer on a Sunday morning just ain't right.Dan, you could also leave them out in the sun for an hour and yes they will taste different.
Which 'devices' is that ?.Tried the devices did nothing for me.
Sure. IME all audio systems impart a 'flavour' of sorts..the trick is to make that flavour universally palatable....and fun. The interesting thing is that it can be done retrospectively, and easily, and economically.Remember audio is not food/wine taste there is completely subjective, folks put ice in fine wine or someone might like to boil off a few degrees of alcohol from their whiskey so it tastes better to THEM.
Putting ice into fine wine is just, well crass.....is that an American thing ?, lol.
I like Chanel 5 on hot women.... 😉.I like stinky cheese and HIGH game.

Well I love peaty, but ardberg is pushing my limits. I rarely buy whisky as £40 lasts about 4 days. Good port even less!
Cheese should be able to do the crossword by itself🙂
I am guessing Nanoracks had a spare slot on the mission and wanted something hi profile to go in there.
Damn, want some bunnahaben (excuse spelling) now.

Try tasting a 1945 Lafite sitting next to one. It happens, the wives just don't understand sound familiar? 😀

Bunnahabhain, Laphroaig, Lagavulin, haven't tasted the peat reek in 20 yr. but I remember it.

Yes, transported in glass phials and mixed with keg shavings on the ISS at the same time as a duplicate on earth.
Took a bottle of 25 year old Lagavulin to my son's wedding in Japan a few years ago, it didn't last long😀

Agreed on the Ardberg. Too much is too much.
A Ledaig on the other hand...

Yup Like all of them. Not tried Ledaig though. Must add that to the list.
C'mon guys, how many of those have been to space? This isn't the "whisky name dropping" thread, it's the "SPACE WHISKY" thread!
I agree there needs to be a good thread on cheese, but whiskey is better with a dash of ginger ale and a good cigar.
In the past I might have rounded out a good night with a doner kebab. It was my non audio friends who would pick out the tomatoes and onions, such a waste.Jacco Vermeulen said:Australian tweakers, intensive double blind testing resulted in a 100% chance of them ripping out everything in the space station which they regard as redundant

I wonder how Frank has his döner. Shame he's no longer around to ask.
