The 33.33 rpm speed of my Technics Sp10MkII had started to drift. The local Panasonics service centre told me they do not service this model anymore. Could someone drop me a pointer where to start checking??

Are you certain it's really drifting? When the neon fails, you might view the strobe from mains lighting, which gives a slightly incorrect answer.
If it really is running at the wrong speed, the standard fault is that the reservoir capacitor in the power supply for the 5V logic supply needs replacing. I can't remember the value, but it's the lowish voltage high value capacitor in the power supply box.

Otherwise I agree with EC for most likely faults. All of mine are and have been rock solid except for one which has started to play up a bit. It sort of goes, but sounds like the motor phases are out of sync and are fighting each other, so it stops unless the power button is held on. Gross faults like this are usually easy to find. With two spares, it's in the to-do-later pile.
Make sure the bearing is lubed regularly too. The SL1200 oil is fine and available from Technics or www.kabusa.com

Still no luck yet after checking the caps. I suspect the problem may be in the logic card because all the voltages in the drive and control card seem to jive with the service manual. My problem is only the 33 rpm is out while the rest are spot on! All the ICs in the logic card are Technics house numbers. Would you by chance know where I can check cross reference to commercial part numbers? The guys at Panasonic are not helpful!!
BTW, I don't have any problem with vinyl engine but the file size of the SP10 manual is a killer! - 25 pages!!

This may sound daft, but what makes you think the speed is wrong on 33?
I would check the supply rails with an oscilloscope for spikes very carefully before diving into the logic circuitry. It's no joke attempting to faultfind the under-platter electronics, and you can't remove the platter to lighten it and make it less liable to collapse on you because the motor objects and cogs wildly. I'm afraid that's all I can remember - it's 15 years since I last had to go inside an SP10. As I recall, the divider etc is all fairly standard stuff, it's the motor drive amplifiers that are hairy.
