Sovtek KT88 specifications not found :(

Hi there,

I recently bougth a matched pair of brand new JJ KT88's just as another pair of matched KT88's from Sovtek. All new.


Although both of them are KT88's, I don't know much about the Sovtek ones, I couldn't even download some kind of spec. sheet for them.

Can anybody help me to get to the Sovtek KT88 specifications?


Another question: which would you prefer? How they sound ? (What's the difference?)



The amp is a 10-12 Watt pure class A SE with grid-driven wiring. (So called "Enhanced Triode Mode").
Very small amount of feedback is applied, just to have a bit self-biasing, which isn't bad, I think.

Hi Vortex,
The spec sheet should be similar for both except the JJs (mine are at least 2 years old, but little time on them) produce just shy of twice the harmonic distortion of the Sovteks. As for sound, it has been along time and I would have to retest.
