Sources for affordable passive components in EU

Hi there,

I'm looking at an alternative EU source (Other than Farnell, RS, Mouser, digikey) for 'medium' quantities of passive components, let's say typically quantities of 1000 resistors or caps.
Usually I find low quantities at a very high price or all-in on 100.000 at the price I can afford. I understand this is how it works but I wonder if some of you have found the resistor heaven. Also curious about every source I'm not aware of. I remember 10 years ago buying 100 pcs from farnell very cheap, this is not the case anymore and I need to address it.

I can buy as private or company, around 90% through hole, website with datasheets only.

Direct from manufacturer with low moq and an online store or reactive support would be perfect.

Tried the search function as I'm pretty sure this has been posted before but got no luck. Do not hesitate to link other recent threads.

Thanks!

You wait till you hit 60, I remember when a pint was 50p, a chocolate bar or bag of crisps 5p. You could go out, get drunk, have a slap up meal, make love to 3 gorgeous birds and still have change from a fiver! Joking aside components are actually cheaper than in the 70's/80's, but we are all aware of the price increase recently. Last order from Farnell cost me £60, when I emptied the box, I thought, is that it! 5 caps, a few nuts and bolts and two speaker terminals, hells teeth!

Sorry, I know no source of cheap components, there's a few places in the UK but after Brexit...... Life, don't talk to me about life, everything gets dearer, your knees start creaking, your back ache's and you keep forgetting where you put your screwdriver.

Andy.

I've found the standard values to be list price. If you use the upper & lower limit function on value (farnell at first ) you can find end of reel 1% resistors off the standard value for a huge discount. The 10% tolerance standard values are all going to be 8% low anyway: spread your tolerance for what you buy. You can also allow some variance in power rating. Some circuits you can allow carbon film, metal film, metal oxide, or wirewound. Know your circuit requirements. Odd technologies can cost less. Temperature coefficient and inductance can vary by technology.
Warning about new vishay resistors - the watt rating is at 200 deg C. This wil burn most pcb materials. You have to look at the length or voltage rating to buy the vishay resistor in a watt rating that won't burn your board.

I am not a fan of reichelt, I think their filters are terrible and they could be quicker when it comes to shipping out orders. But they often have decent prices.

I personally like Buerklin and TME the most. They will ship orders on the same day assuming you didn't miss the cutoff time and their search filters are better in my opinion. They are just more professional distributors.
