Would anyone know where I would be able to get a replacement bulb (called neon lamp in the service manual, but no part number) for the power lamp on an HH Scott 99D amplifier? I have some LEDs, but the voltage across the connections for that bulb seem pretty high.

Any major electronics distributor will have common neon lamps (probably it's an NE-2).
These run on over 90V and use a large series resistor, so using an LED would be a complex substitution,
perhaps having to run off the filament supply, rectified.
Are you sure the lamp holder can be opened to replace the NE-2? It could be sealed, which was common.

Thanks for the quick responses, everyone! Yes, based on the voltage, it didn't seem like putting an LED in there was going to be the best solution. The NE-2 looks like it would be a direct replacement.
Yes, it was pretty easy to get the old bulb out....was not sealed, just held in place by metal bracket.
I have a few small neon bulbs. I'll take a pic later and post. If you think they will fit, I'll send you one via USPS.
Leave a little stress relief on the leads (which are interchangeable).
You may have to trim them.
From the schematic, the bulb will light up just one electrode, on 240 VDC through a series 680k.

Thanks. Yep, the way that the bulb is wired in there, it is kind of bent back so that it is parallel with the wires.
Swapping the leads of the old neon bulb may make it work a little while longer. The lifespan of a neon lamp is shorter when powered by DC instead of AC.
