soundstream reference 6.0 class A help with suitable replacement. I need to replace the the diode supplying the op amp with +15v i can't identify the part number can someone help me with a suitable replacement. the location is to the left of the 160 ohms resistors. can i do some upgrade to make it more stable because that section is all black and overheats all the time. maybe upgrade to a better diode and resistor any suggestion will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.
The diagram calls for a 1N4744 but I think that they upgraded them to a P6KE15.
These run extremely hot. I'd recommend mounting both of these (D110 and D111) under the board and using thermal gap pad material to sink the heat to the sink.
Replace the resistors and install them a bit more off of the board to reduce the heat that they're transferring to the board.
