Sony KSS-210A on AMC CD8a, strong noise

Good evening everyone,

I'm reading from time to time in the forum, but this is my firs post (if I remember well). I'm looking for a bit of help for my AMC CD8a (cd player). When turning on, when opening the cd-drawer, when closing it (before readind TOC), when pressing the "play" button... The motor keeps pushing the optical assembly towards the center of the disc for 3-5 seconds, even if it's already all the way there. It can't move, so the wheels are scratching and making an awful "kraaaaak" noise. After being on for one hour or so, the problem most of the times disappears. Reading normal cds works perfect (the device never liked cd-r, from the first day), and it sounds quite good... So I'd like to ask if there is anything I can do to fix, before the wheels bethween the motor and the optical assembly get destroyed by this strange behaviour. Leaving it always on is not really an option.

Thanks for your help!

Marco
